Ceylon continues to look great, but is aging. She freshened in 2023 with twin does, both were retained. All together there are 6 Ceylon daughters in the herd: SGCH Jordan EX92, SGCH (pend) oo-Long EX92, Morae VG89, Prada (dry yearling)) Ryka and Rakura. She has more than proven herself...as a show doe and as a brood doe. I say she is retired but if she comes into a natural heat and settles to an AI, then we will see.

First is a beautiful doe with lots of width and depth and she milks well. She and Haiku duke it out as to who is the matriarch of the herd. I love this goat, and to say I am disappointed and sad, is to put it mildly, but we have not been able to get her bred for 2 years. She was one we had planned to do IVF in 2022, but when they opened her up and looked at her ovaries, they said she had too many adhesions, and could not harvest any oocytes. In the hopes of seeing if we can get her bred, Jordan has an appointment with the "fertility" doctor at WSU early October...keep your fingers crossed.

Jemca finished her championship at the first show of the season. She has an incredible mammary system, with an exceptional high rear udder and beautiful fore udder. Karaoke, my only Fenjen daughter. I love the general appearance on this doe. She is so sharp and uphill and dairy looking. She was dam raised, and as a result is very independent. I unfortunatley sold all her kids in 2021, and I really want one of her Magnum daughters to retain...one of which was the 1st place Junior kid at the 2021 ADGA National Show, Rockin-CB AAM Nightclub, now owned by Nichole Nadeau of Rustic Woods LaManchas.  As a first freshener in 2022, Morae freshened with basically only half an udder, but that half "oh my..." the height of the rear was incredible...a Ceylon daughter, I couldn't but not take a chance on her. Well, 2023 she freshened the bad side has more milk, but she was definitely still only milking from one side. I really want a doe kid, so we are going to try again one more time.

Naginata had a rough start to the 2023 kidding season, aborting a month before her due date with a single large dead buck. We did our best to try and bring her into  milk, but the stress of a bad kidding and everything else it just wasn't meant to be, so she took the year off. She has grown well, and looks to be a pretty fancy 3 year old. We are looking forward to seeing her fresh.

When I bred Belizze to Modern Man, this doe is exactly what I had hope for...like her mother at this age, she is very immature, but has an impressive mammary, very high scoring a 40. She needs more body depth and width, which will come with maturity. She is an exciting one to watch for in the future.

April has always been a powerhouse of a doe, with a large frame and productive mammary system. She is starting to show her age structurally. She did kid this year with triplet does, but we chose to dry her up (or attempting to do so....) and let her retire with style. Flirt is a productive dairy doe that was shown as a yearling and a two year old. When she freshened as a three year old she was very uneven....we are hopeful we can even her out as a 4th freshener as she has a lot to offer, coning not only from a strong maternal line, but a strong paternal line as well. Assam is special and holds a piece of my heart. She is turning 10 this year and still stands on beautiful feet and legs. She has consistently been able to reproduce and improve on herself in her daughters. I feel very fortunate to have her in my breeding program. She has been retired from the show ring as she unfortunately contracted mastitis a few years ago, destroying half of her udder. The half remaining is as beautiful as ever. We will continue to try to AI her to Zoren to repeat the successful breeding that produced Ceylon and Haiku.

The height and width to this doe's mammary is incredible! When she comes into the milk room, she takes my breath away....She is another special doe in this special dam line. I feel incredibly fortunate to have been able to breed and own this dam line. Fenjen has traditionally freshened very late, and as a results has not milked to her potential, but this year we were able to get her bred to freshen in January instead of May, June or July! We are excited to see her freshen in 2020!!
